How far in advance should I book my session?

At least a month in advance. However, JMP will do its best to accommodate the client’s last minute needs.

How long will my session last?

Typically 60-90 minutes.

Where will it be?

This depends on the client. JMP loves photographing outdoors (but not limited to), and client recommendations on parks/locations etc…are much appreciated.

How many people can be included in the photos?

As many as the client prefers.

Can I request specific photos to be taken (i.e., grandchildren/grandparents, solo of kids, etc.)?

Can our pets be a part of our photos?

Of course, and is encouraged. After all, they are part of the family, too.

What do we need to bring to a Family Portrait Session?

Any props, outfit changes, snacks drinks, children’s favorite toy (to keep the little ones happy!), etc…

I know what kind of look I want but I’m not sure what locations to achieve it, can you suggest options?

Absolutely, but JMP loves photographing in new locations each time and clients’ ideas on locations are much appreciated.

What should we do to prepare for the session?

Prepare clothing options. White clothing looks nice, but looks harsh in the sun, so try to avoid, especially on a bright sunny day. Black also can be very tricky. Colors make a photograph pop! Also, no need to have the family in identical outfits. Coordinating outfits look best. Just my opinion!

What comes with the packages?

Most Packages come with hi res digital download of session, refer to investment tab.

If it rains, do you have a studio to shoot the photos?

I do not, but depending on the nature of the shoot, we can photograph in home. If not, we can reschedule at your earliest convenience.

Will these images be posted online or any social networks?

Yes, in a private client gallery on Pixieset, as well as Facebook and Twitter (unless you prefer they not be).

Will we have the option to use props?

Of course.

How do we go about securing our session?

When is the best time of year to schedule my session?

Spring and fall are best because of the climate, but pictures in the snow in the winter, or by the pool in the summer, are fantastic too! All year round!

What time of day is best for a portrait session?

Typically before sunset or after sunrise, but this is not always the case, depending on the time of year and the look the client is going for.

What happens if you’re sick or are unable to shoot the session on the scheduled day?

JMP will reschedule the session at the client’s earliest convenience.

How will we know how to pose?

I like to capture candid shots (i.e., a family having a good laugh). JMP will direct clients on posing.

How many outfit changes can we have?

Depends on the nature of the shoot.

What if my children act up on the day of the shoot and we can’t get any good photos?
